Recall, Assess, Regret, and Nostalgia

12/21/2009 Posted by: Mr. J.A. Book 0 comments

The year is about to end so much so that we're starting to recall all the past events that have happened around us, so much so that we gravitate to assess ourselves, so much so that we find remorse from not doing the things right, so much so that we become nostalgic of the things we find significant.

Yes, I am now recalling the past events, evaluating myself, regretting the wrong things I have done, and missing the good things that have happened to me this year.

Accept The Truth Or Just Shut Up?

Why can't we just accept the truth? Don't make stories. If you do, just shut up!

Isn't It It Hard If You Were To Be Told?

You are different and that you are unacceptable. You are a deviant and that you do not belong.

Isn't it hard to be a homosexual? This came into my mind in the middle of a boring afternoon--working on my product presentations at the office.

The Best Place To Get Praised

I miss the stage.

I grew up in a school that gives much focus on developing the students' potential in the field of performing arts.

Push Hard

The celestial Virgo tells me today: "You need to push yourself hard today -- discipline usually comes naturally to you, but for now, it takes all you've got just to get you out of bed! Once you get moving, inertia should keep you going." (yahoo.com/astrology)

Spending My Last Four Months

12/10/2009 Posted by: Mr. J.A. Book 0 comments

My plants are growing well without myself watering them. Now, I could just sleep without my air conditioner turned on. And I could get new clothes and new shoes without myself buying them. I am busy for three months.

The rain, the coldness of the atmosphere, the hustle and bustle, the food and the presents--these are all the things that we love of the holiday season, simply Christmas.

I love plants and I got it from grandma.

Gardening is my way of unwinding from the stresses at work.

In The Face of Deviance

21 years now.

When I stop and think about what I have been and have done in the past decade, I can only give myself a tee-hee. What was I before?

Stop The Stereotype

I have always wanted to write about homosexuality and share my views and opinion about this contentious subject in a more in-depth way. This, obviously, is not a new issue to talk about since there have already been myriad articles written about it – and varying perspectives have been shared about. In fact, I have already delivered a speech about this subject in a forum held last year at Silliman University. But the speech I gave was more about raising awareness among the public what the gay community has done or contributed to the society. It was more about provoking a good public opinion towards the community I belong and inspire everyone including the homosexuals and the straight that we can all live in equal grounds. Here, I wanted to share how I was able to gain people’s respect, how I coped with the injustice that I had experienced – and again share what I and my community have contributed to our society.

Departure

A NARRATIVE OF MY GRANDMA'S DEATH

I can smell the redolence of an old-aged woman. I saw her fell to a deep sleep. I was with her. Now, she is with me always, everywhere...

It was an eerie Friday afternoon. Strong winds came from nowhere created a loud shrilling sound blowing out tree branches and leaves. And there was roaring of thunder. The streets were busy. Cars, pedicabs and trisikads filled the narrow streets of Magsaysay. There was clamor among the drivers to get off from the traffic. There were beeps. There were parents picking up their children at school.
